Thanks for stopping by! This is my first of many (I hope!) blog posts. This post happens to correlate to my most recent YouTube video! You can always find my most recent videos at http://Www.Youtube.com/LovebyLaur or click the YouTube tab at the top of the page!
Today I’ll be sharing with you my Current Favorite Beauty Products! I hope you enjoy my first blog post!
1. Cetaphil Restoraderm Body Moisturizer, $18
For those who know me, know that I have eczema that’s been pretty bad, especially, for the last couple of years. I’ve tried anything and everything since I was really young, and not a lot worked. Cetaphil changed the packaging of this Restoraderm Moisturizer, which leads me to believe that they may have changed the formula as well. This is more-so convincing because now I L O V E this moisturizer! It doesn’t leave a heavy film on my skin or make me feel sticky in this Hawai’i humidity. Thank God for this formula change (if they actually changed it!) because now I’m obsessed!
2. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, $38
This one is pretty simple. It’s very gentle yet cleanses my skin really well! My face always feels very soft after using this cleanser.
3. Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, $48
I had a love/hate relationship with this one at first. I thought I could douse myself in it like I do with my MAC Fix+, but boy was I wrong! A little goes a long way with this product, and less is definitely more. I spritz myself twice on each side of my face, closer to the tops of my cheek bones where I highlight. This gives a beautiful dew on the skin, but doesn’t get in the center of the face where most of us naturally get “dewy”.
4. Travalo Fragrance Atomizer, $15
I don’t know why it took me so long to purchase one of these! They’re small enough to keep in your purse or pocket- or if you’re me, you keep two in one makeup bag- but big enough where you get a good amount of fragrance in one “load”. I only have two right now – one for my YSL Mon Paris, one for my Victoria’s Secret Pure Seduction Body Spray – but I know I’ll be purchasing more! Even Tommy wants one now!
5. Luxie Beauty 516 Brush, $22
As a makeup lover and makeup artist, you can imagine that I use a lot of brushes on a daily basis. This particular brush has just been sitting pretty on my vanity for a bit, but I recently decided to use it to lightly, diffuse and blend out my loose powder illuminator and it’s GREAT! Due to the fact that it’s duo fibre, it doesn’t pack on the pigment to strongly, but still allows you to build up the color.
6. Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating Powder, $36
This is the Illuminating Powder I mentioned previously! There are two shades, Candlelight and Starlight. I love both! You can use this powder all over the face as a finishing powder, or use it as a highlight and pack it on on the tops of your cheek bones, cupids bow, and anywhere else you highlight! A little Beauty Hack I have, is to add some of this powder into any body lotion and it turns it into an illuminating lotion that makes your skin look amazingly healthy!
7. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder, $26
This under eye setting powder is the only powder I use under my eyes now! This extremely finely milled powder perfectly sets my under eye concealer without accentuate any fine lines, wrinkles, or looking cakey while also brightening! I haven’t noticed any flashback with this powder (when you take flash photography and your face looks extremely white when you know that’s not how you look like). On occasion where my lower lash mascara transfers onto my under eye, I use this powder to blend it away and it does the job, again, without looking cakey or breaking up the existing makeup underneath it.
8. Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder, $55
This is quite the expensive loose setting powder and it’s extremely fragrant, but if you can get past those two factors, this is an amazing setting powder for all of the face. This powder lays on the skin so well that you can hardly detect that there’s powder there! This claims to be a mattifying powder that illuminates, so I’m not exactly sure how that works. But it’s a great mix of both because it’s not a dewy or sparkly powder but it doesn’t leave my already-dry skin feeling even more dry.
9. Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil, $24
If you didn’t already know, I’m now BLONDE! But with a new hair color comes a new brow color as well! I was using this product when I had darker hair and love it, so I decided to continue using this product but just get Shade 3 instead of Shade 5. This product is waxy enough where you know your brow isn’t going anywhere, but light and natural enough where you can fake a naturally full brow!
10. Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel, $22
As I just stated, with a new hair colors needs to come a correlating brow color! I’m a little scared to bleach my brows (do people still do that??), so I figured the next best (and less permanent) thing to do is grab some tinted brow gel! It does the job of tinting my brow hairs to match my new hair color. As for holding the brows in place, I prefer using soap. YES. Soap. I’ll make a separate post about that 😉
11. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, $30
Here’s a cult favorite! Although they have a huge color selection, I had a difficult time finding a color that matched my skin tone. But I finally found a shade that works well under my eyes and I can’t believe it took me this long to finally find a shade that I could use! This concealer is so popular for a reason. It, in fact, is creamy and gives off a beautiful, natural radiance to the skin. With the Secret Brightening Powder on top to set this, it’s a match made in heaven!
12. Brazilian Bum Bum Brazilian Kiss Lip Butter, $18
This one was a random purchase for me. I have a few lip masks that I love and that work for my sensitive lips, but I don’t want to have to dig into a jar or use my fingers to apply it for sanitary reasons. I appreciated that I could use this lip balm at any time, without having to worry about excess bacteria. I ended up loving this lip butter for more than it’s convenience! It has a great texture, hydrates the lips, and smells delicious!
13. Dose of Colors Liquid Lipsticks, $18
I’ve known about this brand for awhile now, as most who watch beauty vloggers do. But in Hawai’i there were no places to access them and shopping online can be a burden because of how much it costs to ship to Hawai’i. But when Tommy and I were in California, we went to Naimies and they carry Dose of Colors! Because I haven’t tried any before, I only purchased one liquid lipstick in case I didn’t like them, but UGH! I wish I purchased more because the formula is AMAZING. It’s so thin and comfortable on the lips but yet it’s extremely long wearing. I have no idea how that works, but I can appreciate it! I definitely want to get my hands on more shades!
